Arrests in Palm Beach Gardens
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department makes arrests inside the city. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office polices the unincorporated areas around it, and the Florida Highway Patrol makes arrests on the state roads.
Where Palm Beach Gardens cases are heard
- Misdemeanors and criminal traffic, including DUI, from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department belong to the 15th Circuit’s Northern Region. All Northern Region cases are heard at the North County Courthouse, 3188 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, and citations that require a court appearance are scheduled there.
- The Northern Region also takes cases from the Jupiter, Riviera Beach, Juno Beach, Tequesta and North Palm Beach police and from the Sheriff’s districts for Mangonia Park, Lake Park, Palm Beach Shores and the unincorporated north county.
- Felonies go to circuit criminal judges, most of whom sit at the Judge Daniel T. K. Hurley Courthouse, 205 North Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.
Your paperwork names the courthouse and the date, so check it before you assume where your case is.
The first 24 hours
A person who is held after an arrest sees a judge within 24 hours in the Criminal Justice Courtroom at 3228 Gun Club Road in West Palm Beach, the same address as the Sheriff’s Main Detention Center. Hearings start at 10:00 a.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays. On a misdemeanor, the judge may arraign and sentence at that first hearing, so it is worth having a lawyer’s advice before pleading. PBSO Inmate Records is (561) 688-4340.
DUI and your license
A Palm Beach Gardens DUI starts the 10-day deadline on your license. The state’s Palm Beach County listing directs license reviews to the Bureau of Administrative Reviews office in Lauderdale Lakes, and the request can be emailed. See DUI defense, breath test refusal and Florida DUI penalties.
