County court criminal judges hear misdemeanors and criminal traffic charges such as DUI. The circuit splits those cases into four regions by the arresting agency. Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach police cases, among others, belong to the Southern Region and are heard at the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach. West Palm Beach police and the Sheriff’s districts for Wellington and Lake Worth Beach belong to the Central Region, in West Palm Beach. Most felony judges sit at the Hurley Courthouse.

First appearance for anyone held in jail is in the Criminal Justice Courtroom at 3228 Gun Club Road, at 10:00 a.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays. On a misdemeanor, the judge may arraign and sentence at that hearing.
