Hollywood Criminal Defense and DUI

Hollywood is one of Broward County's largest cities, about 7 miles south of Adam's downtown Fort Lauderdale office. Adam defends people arrested in Hollywood for DUI and criminal charges.

Arrests in Hollywood

Hollywood has its own police department, the Hollywood Police Department, headquartered at 3250 Hollywood Boulevard, about 7 miles straight-line from Adam’s office. The Broward Sheriff’s Office runs the county jail system, so a person arrested in Hollywood is booked into BSO custody and, if not released on bond, sees a judge at first appearance within 24 hours. Broward first appearances are held at the Central Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, with the person appearing by video from the jail.

Hollywood cases in court

  • Misdemeanors brought by the Hollywood Police Department are filed at the South Regional Courthouse at 3550 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, on the same road as the police headquarters.
  • DUI cases are the exception. Under the circuit’s administrative order, every Broward DUI is filed at the Central Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, across the street from Adam’s office.
  • Felonies are heard at the Central Courthouse at 201 SE 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale, across the street from Adam’s office.
  • Prosecution is handled by the Broward State Attorney’s Office, which has a satellite office at the South Regional Courthouse.

DUI arrests in Hollywood

A Hollywood DUI starts a criminal case and a license suspension. The license deadline is 10 days, and the hearing is handled by the DHSMV Bureau of Administrative Reviews office in Lauderdale Lakes, by email or phone. See the 10-day rule and DUI defense.
